ENGAGEMENT - Jim + Nicole, Pittsburgh PA

We loved exploring the city of Pittsburgh with Jim & Nicole for their holiday engagement shoot! We checked out the Holiday Market in Market Square, snapped a few along the city streets & Christmas display windows, and captured more in front of the impressive tree at the PPG skating rink, as a nod to the Christmas tree that Jim proposed to Nicole in front of last year at Universal Studios! You’ll even find a surprise reverse-proposal snuck into this photo shoot, as Nicole wanted to ask Jim if HE would be HER “forever” <3

ENGAGEMENT - Ron + Natasha, Black Moshannon State Park

After seeing us in action at their good friends’ wedding, Ron & Natasha were excited to book us for theirs! Ron was a groomsman in his buddy’s wedding, but this time around, he was the main focus of our cameras for this engagement shoot…him and his beautiful bride-to-be ;) Seven years together and you can still see that twinkle in their eyes for each other!

ENGAGEMENT - Kurt + Kristen, Cook Forest PA

This engagement shoot had a special touch to it, as we photographed a couple we loved working with nearly 10 years ago, in the same location (the trails & bridges of Cook Forest), with the SAME prop (a fun & flirty red heart umbrella!) We shared so much laughter and joy with Kurt & Kristen during this shoot =) Here Sam & I are, 17 years in, still loving what we get to do and WHO we get to do it with!

ENGAGEMENT - Sean + LeeAnn, Ellicottville NY

We are always up for traveling & exploring a new location for our engagement shoots! For their session, Sean & LeeAnn brought us out to the covered bridge where he proposed! The fresh fallen snow made for a gorgeous backdrop by the bridge. And the streets of the adorable little town of Ellicottville were perfect for a stroll hand-in-hand!

ENGAGEMENT - Darrin + Brittany, DuBois PA

For our first photo shoot of 2023, we got to enjoy a sunny (and windy) Winter day capturing the love & laughter between Darrin & Brittany. A little fancy in an elegant dress down on the docks (still rocking the boots!), then they relaxed with a fun & flirty snowball fight, and ended by busting out the guitar for some sweet serenading shots <3 When we were planning their shoot, Brittany said: “Sometimes Darrin plays his guitar for me and I fall in love with him all over again!“, so I knew their photo shoot needed its own guitar solo ;)

ENGAGEMENT - Kyle + Sarah - Kayaks

We always love including a bride + groom’s favorite hobbies as a couple, like Kayaking. But what we love even more for engagement shoots is having FUN with our couples! At the very beginning of this session, Kyle told Sam & I, that if nothing else, he’ll at least make us laugh. And he wasn’t kidding! I remember laughing SO HARD with Kyle & Sarah that I was doubled over from my sides hurting!! It takes skill to shoot through the pain ;) But totally worth it for how fun & adorable these two were together!

ENGAGEMENT - Josh + Sierra - Mini Golf Carnival

Josh + Sierra have been together for three years, and one of their favorite date activities is Mini Golf. So we had fun plans to take lifestyle photos at a local mini golf course, followed by some pretty sunset pictures. But when you find out the carnival is in town the night of your session, you ask the bride & groom if they’re up for some bonus session time in the neon lights ;) SO FUN!

ENGAGEMENT - David + Lindsay - Black Moshannon Park - HUNTING

One of our favorite things to do with engagement shoots is to showcase who our couples are! What are their hobbies, favorite date spots, and in general how do they spend their time together. For David + Lindsay, that includes 1. hunting and archery in their own backyard and 2. walks and cuddles with their fur baby, Boland! The bow & arrow AND Bobo the puppy made a perfect combination for their session!

ENGAGEMENT - Travis + Molly - Smores Campfire

Why s’mores for an engagement session, you ask? ;) Travis + Molly had mutual friends that are in a Christian worship band. They would cross paths at concerts and Molly had heard of what a good guy Travis is. One time, the church hosted an outdoor concert with a S’mores station! Molly had made herself a S’more and sat next to Travis to watch the show. She broke off half of the S’more, gave it to him, but then proceeded to take half of that half back, haha! After the concert, they connected and chatted the night away. So began their love story <3 Oh, and those mutual friends?? You’ll see them on the blog again this September, as the Best Man & Matron of Honor at the wedding!

ENGAGEMENT - Zac + Leah - Point State Park, Pittsburgh

It’s always fun to explore new areas for engagement shoots (especially gorgeous ones like Point State Park), but it’s even more fun to hang out with and capture photos of FUN hike-trailing, book-loving couples like Zac + Leah! (Fun Fact, if you spot it, Zac proposed in Kane!) We have different themes to our sessions and one of them is called “Goofy + Giggly”…check out the last photos below, NAILED IT! hahaha

ENGAGEMENT - Matt + Gina - TABLE 105 RESTAURANT

Matt + Gina had a mutual friend that just knew they would be great together and suggested the two meet sometime…as fate would have it, they ran into each other at a local restaurant. They made a coffee date before Matt went into work, but later he realized he left his credit card at the restaurant. So he asked Gina if she could grab his card and, of course, that meant they would have to get together again to exchange ;) After hearing that story, and checking out the restaurant’s website, I just knew we needed to take some of Matt + Gina’s engagement photos at Table 105!

ENGAGEMENT - Josh + Caroline

As we get to know our couples and brainstorm ideas for their engagement shoot, their hobbies are something fun to discover! Many enjoy activities like hiking, picnics, and wine tastings…but when we get one as unique as Parkour, we just HAVE to incorporate it into the session! ;) For Josh & Caroline’s photo shoot, that involved climbing trees, walls, railings, and buildings, SO FUN!!

ENGAGEMENT - Philip + Lauren - SIP & PAINT

One of our favorite things about engagement sessions is getting to know our couples ahead of time and using that information as inspiration for their photo shoot…Philip & Lauren’s session was exactly that! They enjoy going to wine tastings and actually are getting married this year at a local Winery, so a wine & cheese tasting by the lake was perfect. Then after I heard Philip proposed while the two of them were painting a sunset on canvas (another one of their favorite hobbies), we decided to have a mini paint session at sunset during our shoot…and even more fun, a paint war ;)

ENGAGEMENT - Andrew + Sarah

Sam & I love exploring new locations with our couples, it’s so inspiring for us and what we see through our lens…golden hour in a field, a sunset peeking through the trees, and an evening stroll creekside! We ALSO love brainstorming prop ideas with our couples to add that personal touch to the session. Sarah brought red roses, just like Andrew did on their first date! Plus the leather album that Andrew gave on her birthday that he used for a surprise proposal <3 So romantic!
