FAMILIES - Walker Family - Mini Session

It's official, we have been photographing the Walker Family longer than any other client in our Studio! I remember taking newborn photos at the hospital of big sister, Abigail =) So, that means when they are making a trip home to PA (after moving to Georgia) you make sure you squeeze them in for a shoot ;) And boy did we have fun together with these beautiful sisters picking flowers and playing ring around the rosey =) I can only hope to have priceless photos like these of my daughters when they get older!

LIFE WITH THE LIMS - Finding Peace in PPD

BabyCenter shares ”about 10 percent of new mothers develop Postpartum Depression, but some experts believe the number is even higher because many women don't seek treatment." Three years ago, I shared a personal story here on the blog, one of miscarriage. I explained that, because my girlfriends had been open about their loss, I knew going into my first pregnancy that miscarriage was a possibility and, in turn, I was able to find healing sooner than expected. (Read that story here) But here's the thing, THIS…Postpartum Depression…no one talks about it. And I understand why! There's shame and embarrassment associated with what you go through, so obviously your first instinct is not to be vulnerable and share your struggles openly. A miscarriage happens TO you and sympathy comes from friends & family with that. But with PPD, you struggle with the feeling that it's YOUR fault that you act and feel this way. It makes you want to hide from your family & friends or put on a brave face while, really, you're falling apart behind closed doors. But if only we mommas struggling with PPD, and those that have found healing, could share our stories, then we would help each other understand that it's NOT our fault! With pregnancy, our bodies have gone through changes and our emotions are under attack. So today I choose to share another personal story, the hurt and heartache of PPD, in the hopes that other mommas will find acceptance & healing in these words.

LIFE WITH THE LIMS - Maternity Session

It could just be the pregnancy hormones, but after seeing how these photos we took of our growing family turned out, I cried!  Like all mommas say, it gets tougher to capture precious moments when there's a toddler running around ;) So these maternity photos, taken one month to the day Baby Sister is scheduled to arrive, will be forever cherished in this momma's heart. They capture our every day lives in each photo: cuddling with the doggy, giving Mommy big kisses, dancing round in circles, and the one I hope I never forget: Liliana putting her tiny hand on Mommy's belly with a big smile and saying "Baby!".........oh there we go, more tears!!!

Vince Sarah - Engagement Session

One of my favorite things about connecting with a Bridal Party on the wedding day is starting a relationship that shifts from Bridesmaid or Groomsman to our next Bride or Groom!  Vince was in a wedding that Sam & I photographed a few years ago...and that couple was part of one of our previous year's bridal party...and them before that...and them before that!! It's a cycle that I LOVE ;) And is always so fun to visit with our past couples at new weddings =) Can't wait to see the gang at Vince & Sarah's wedding next year!

WEDDING - Josh & Jordan - The Lakemont Casino - Altoona, PA

11 years ago, I was a Youth Group leader at Tri County Church and started with a new group of teen girls for the school year.  Little did I know that one of those girls would not only transition from being a youth student to a youth leader by my side, but even further down the road, I would be photographing her wedding =) What a joy, honor, and privilege.  Love you bunches, Jordan and I am so excited to see the joy & love in your eyes ALL DAY yesterday as you married the man of your prayers!!!
