We have been super blessed to have had the opportunity to be on ALL 3 of the DuBois Life Magazine covers thus far! 

     Issue 1 showcased photos we took at a Charity Event in our community, as well as an article about the photo session we donated to the 2013 New Year's Baby! Issue 2 was all about our awesome program, "Baby's 1st Day", capturing photos of newborn babies at DRMC.

     And for those who live in the 15801 zip code (and about 1 mile around it), did you see the magazine in your mailboxes this past weekend?  If yes...did you see our BIG article on the last page?!

      In Issue 3, I got to share about one of my greatest passions...WEDDINGS! I have been asked to be a monthly "Community Contributor", writing articles geared towards newly engaged brides! For those planning 2013 & 2014 Weddings, I will be sharing tips, trends, and personal stories from planning my own wedding this past year!!!  So stinking excited to share 6+ years of wedding industry experience with the brides of DuBois.

“Newly Engaged!...Now What?”

Congratulations to all the beaming brides who recently got engaged on Valentine’s Day!  And congrats to those brides with engagements over Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s and every day in between. I remember how exciting and overwhelming that time was in my life.

My name is Rachel Anne, owner of Rachel Anne’s Photography (DuBois, PA), and I was in your shoes just a little over a year ago. My husband and I got married this past July at the DuBois Country Club after a, not nearly long enough, 8-month engagement.  You see, we are a wedding photographer/videographer duo, entering our seventh year in the Wedding Industry.  So needless to say, we had numerous ideas on how to make our event like no other.  And while I would have loved having a few extra months to plan, our wedding day was everything I had hoped for and so much more!

I actually enjoyed the creativity and excitement of it all so much, that I have added Planning Services to our 2013 Wedding Collections at Rachel Anne’s Photography.  That means I get to help brides create the wedding of their dreams by providing resources, organization, and inspiration.

With this new title, a growing experience in the industry, and my own wedding under my belt, I am excited to announce that I have been given the opportunity to help you, my beaming brides!  Beginning next month, in an ongoing series of articles titled “Wondrous Weddings with Rachel Anne”, I will guide you through the necessary steps in planning your very own, wondrous wedding.

JOHN & KAREN...Engagement Session

    I met Karen, beautiful bride that she is now, in May of last year, when she was a bridesmaid at the wedding of Zach & Maria!  She loved our style and all that we offer, so much so, that she contacted us just one week later to book us for her wedding!  (She was actually the 1st of 3 bridesmaids from that wedding to book us!!!)

    Karen & her fiancee, John, live out of town and were home for a visit this past weekend.  So we were able to spend the day with them, Saturday, for their Engagement Session...and boy oh boy...these two make a gorgeous couple!  Just check out these photos!!!  We had a blast during their shoot, because John & Karen love to laugh just as much as we do =)  Plus, could they be any cuter with the way that they hold hands...a pinky lock!  I just had to capture that ;)

     Sam & I are super excited to spend October 5th with John & Karen...and to see all of our brides & grooms that will be at the wedding, haha, it will be like a reunion for us all =D

ARIA ARIN

     Last week we featured this cutie on "Movie Mondays" for her "Baby's 1st Day" photo shoot...this week it's her adorable "Bundle of Joy" session! 

     One of my favorite part of photographing newborns is seeing all the baby outfits & accessories that momma brings along =)  We provide the cute baskets and props, but allow parents to bring their favorite extras to include in the session.  And for baby Aria, momma brought this too cute tutu that someone made her as a gift!  LOVE!!!

     While Sam & I love getting to meet all those "Nearly-weds", we are more excited for the next step, inviting them over to our Studio for a date night! =)  Couples who book with Rachel Anne's Photography, are invited over to home for a fun night chatting about their wedding planning thus far, enjoying delicious appetizers with a glass of wine, and going over all that we offer our brides & grooms for their upcoming wedding!  It's a fun night for sure and we are blessed enough to have TEN of these date nights in the month of February alone!!

     Where it all started, however, is by visiting Sam & I at one of our Bridal Show booths over the past month - Royal Inn Bridal Show, Ridgway; DuBois Bridal Expo, DuBois; Best Bridal Event, Altoona.  We put a lot of effort into setting up an awesome display in our booth.  Lots of planning & packing (thank you to my Daddy who built me a rolling cart to lug it all in on ;)  Sam is amazingly supportive and constructed two walls...WALLS...like wall paper on top, chair rail on the bottom, Walls for us to hang our custom Wall Art displays on at the two corners of our booth (see pics below!) For fun...and for personal memories ;) ...I put together a collage of photos from our booths, check them out below!

Aria Arin

How pretty you are little miss Aria Arin...with such a pretty name to match!  Lots of love & laughs with this new family of 4. And Big Sis is ready to help Mommy & Daddy! You should have seen this cutie hopping on my stool to put socks on Little Sis and getting their matching shirts ready for their photo-op ;)

This past weekend we were featured in our FAVORITE bridal show of the year, the DuBois Bridal Expo.  The turnout was amazing, 200+ brides!  But this year, the event was bumped up to the weekend BEFORE Valentine's Day.  And all I could think about were the brides getting engaged this week who missed out on the show =( 

At the Expo we offered a Show Special of a Bonus Collection Credit ($250 value) and today I'm announcing that we are turning the tables and letting YOU give the gift!

This weekend, Sam & I had a full schedule with a presentation at DRMC's Pre-Natal class and our biggest Bridal Show of the year, the DuBois Bridal Expo.  But we still had enough time to squeeze in a "Bundle of Joy" session for baby Gracey Lynn =D

With our brand new Studio, we can now set up cute stage sets for photo shoots (so exciting!)  And I couldn't wait to take newborn pictures of little Gracey in this vintage setting with the whimsy of flowers & butterflies.  She looks so peaceful, doesn't she? =)

So let's admit it...we all love watching Superbowl Commercials, no matter how overpriced they are ;) Sam & I got to throw the Superbowl Party for our friends this year...yay! I love hosting =D ...but since our beloved Steelers were not in it this year, all I had to look forward to was hosting and SUPERBOWL COMMERCIALS!

I have since learned, that when you're the host, you don't get to see them all live and experience the excitement. But no worries, I found them all posted on one YouTube Channel www.youtube.com/adblitz  So Sam & I sat in bed last night, watched & rewatched them all, so that we could come up with the FIRST OFFICIAL Blog Post on the Rachel Anne's Photography Blog...

"Our TOP TEN Superbowl Commercials"

#10 This one was NOT ONLY funny, but SO TRUE for Sam & I, hahaha! We don't hit each other over the head with a chair =P but I only will eat the cookie, can't stand the cream and he loves it. So Sam will take probably about 4 oreos at a time, remove the cream from 3 of them, give me the leftover cookies, and make himself a massively stuffed Oreo! Classic =D

#9 My tearjerker this year =*)

#8 - Special Extended Version =) My Fav Amy lines..."Which one has a touchy-feely screen?" "Can I connect these to my phone, so that I look dope when I call my peeps?" "Wanna unbutton your shirt a little bit?"

#7 This was funny to watch with all of us ladies in the room, haha, as a collective "awe" let out ;) Love the end!

#6 Great commercial...would have been AWESOME if it was us instead of the Ravens in the Superbowl and the wife had said "Go Steelers!" =P

#5 This one appeals to my creative eye. I really enjoyed the camrea angles, sequencing, and "supersticious" effects...but I was particularly partial to this commercial because it features Stevie Wonder, who sings Sam & I's first dance with his upbeat rendition of "At Last"

#4 I love this one partially just because it has Penny...Big Bang Theory - Sam & I's favorite comedy! Though Modern Family is a close second =D ...but it's just funny in general, I too wish I could eat as much chocolate as I want, "Your chocolate levels are dangerously low, Mrs. Lim" ;)
